National Day of the Cowboy Celebration
Don't just sit there! Be a part of the action in Colfax County for week of the National Day of the Cowboy! Ride with R.W. Hampton in a 5 - day "Practical Horsemanship" horse training clinic with nationally recognized clinician, Kerry Kuhn. Combining practical application in real life situations Kerry will cover a variety of horse training subjects from problem solving, colt starting and trail-riding to cattle work. Kerry's specialty is building a better working relationship with your horse, no matter what your discipline or experience level.
Spaces for the clinic will be limited and all of the riders will be grouped according to their level of experience, the age or training level of the horse, and what the participant(s) want to work on, thus ensuring private attention for everyone involved.
Guests & participants can join R.W. and Kerry on various trail rides, including riding on the historic CS Cattle Co., and along the Santa Fe Trail. They can visit local museums and tour the historic ruins of Fort Union, and join in other non-horseback related games and activities with the family and other guests like canoe races, campfire sing-along, and a concert under the stars.

Relive Prescott, Arizona's Wild West Glory Days!
Take a step back in time, put on your Western duds and experience Prescott’s Western heritage during the 3rd Annual Shootout On Whiskey Row. The Prescott Regulators and Their Shady Ladies will host this gathering of award-winning Western re-enactor groups who will perform historic skits and gunfights on Whiskey Row in competition nearly a $1000. in cash prizes. Participants come from all over Arizona and other Southwestern States.
Enter the largest period costume contest in Arizona, which requires authentic 1800s clothing or shop the many vendors of period items. Fundraising activities will include the sales of commemorative T-shirts and tote bags, plus raffle prizes. Young buckaroos can try their luck at calf ropin’ and stick horse racin’.
There is no admission fee to attend this event which celebrates the National Day of the Cowboy on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The city’s Mayor will lead the commencement ceremony.
As a non-profit organization, The Prescott Regulators and Their Shady Ladies raise money for local charities and non-profit service organizations while preserving Prescott’s Western heritage. A portion of the proceeds and donations from this event will be presented to
Yavapai Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
